Public QR generator

QR codes created with the public generator are built in your browser. OneSimpleQR does not intentionally save the destination or generated image. A private total counter is increased when a QR is generated, but it does not contain the destination or identify the person who created it.

Accounts and verification

Account information includes your name, email address, password hash, timezone, and QR credit balance. New accounts must verify their email. Registration may use Google reCAPTCHA to reduce automated signups, which can send device and interaction information to Google under Google's privacy policy and terms.

Tracked QR codes

When someone opens a tracked QR link, the service records the scan time, IP address, a network hash used for estimated unique counts, location data, device type, browser, operating system, user agent, and referrer when available. Known automated preview requests are marked separately.

Location accuracy

Location is inferred from the network address and can be incorrect. VPNs, carrier networks, proxies, and privacy tools can affect the result.

Payments

Payments are processed through Stripe. OneSimpleQR records order details such as the purchased package, amount, buyer email, payment status, and Stripe transaction identifiers. Full card numbers are not stored by OneSimpleQR.

Email alerts

Account holders can enable or disable email alerts globally and for individual QR codes. Email delivery logs may be kept for troubleshooting.

Data control

Deleting a tracked QR code permanently removes its stored scan history from the application database. Server backups may retain an older copy temporarily according to the hosting provider's backup schedule.
